Use your ChatGPT session in a chapter-based workflow
A ChatGPT account you already use can become an AI provider in 2novel through the relay extension. Task requests run in the ChatGPT tab, and results return to the corresponding chapter for reading, editing and saving. Continue the book in one workspace with its source and translation ready for comparison.
Use what you have and check additional charges
If your current ChatGPT session meets your needs and the 2novel own-provider rate has no per-character charge, you can translate without adding that charge for each chapter. This does not remove an existing platform plan fee or ChatGPT subscription. Include any needed plan or provider change before deciding.
From installing the extension to your first chapter
The ChatGPT-session connection does not require an OpenAI API key. You need desktop Chrome, an extension paired with the correct workspace and a signed-in ChatGPT session.
- Open Install the ChatGPT extension under Read next; install through the store link or the .zip supplied by 2novel.
- Create a pairing code in Settings → ChatGPT extension, enter it in the popup and check the device is active.
- In Model settings, select ChatGPT for Translation. Choose the Analysis provider separately, then click Save models.
- Translate a short chapter, review the result and check Usage history before continuing.
Choose a pace that fits a browser session
Keep your computer and Chrome running while the extension works. If ChatGPT requires sign-in, shows a limit or needs action, check the notice before retrying. Pairing more extensions or increasing the pace does not create independent allowances for the same account.
Put your remaining effort into editing
An existing AI provider helps bring a draft into a workflow you control. Compare meaning with the source, agree on names and forms of address, edit the voice and save. Try editing a passage directly before asking AI to regenerate a whole chapter; reruns still use resources on your ChatGPT account.
Connect and try one chapter
Open Settings to pair the extension and select ChatGPT. Follow the installation guide under Read next if needed. Start with a chapter you have permission to use and check the cost conditions before expanding to the whole novel.
