“0 cost” novel translation: check the budget before running a whole book
Check platform fees, AI-provider charges and rerun choices to see whether a no-additional-translation-charge workflow fits your account.

A clear budget helps you plan a long novel
Before queuing many chapters, identify your translation provider and the charges you already have. For a “0 cost” goal, check whether per-character translation charges at 2novel apply to your chosen setup. Your total budget still needs to include the platform plan, provider costs and editing time.
Separate the three cost components
A 2novel plan provides capabilities and tools under its current terms. The AI provider supplies processing through a ChatGPT session or API key. Translation charges at 2novel depend on your provider and account conditions. Check Pricing for current served rates and Plans & billing for the capabilities that apply to your workspace.
Check both primary and fallback providers
A connected provider may not be selected for a task. Translation and Analysis can use different providers, and a fallback may have different provider charges. Check each selection in Model settings and save. If you do not need a fallback yet, start with a primary provider.
Use a small trial to check actual conditions
Before running a whole book, try a chapter that represents its style and difficulty.
- Check own-provider access, plan fees and current translation rates.
- Check charges or limits on your AI-provider account.
- Check Translation, Analysis and fallback selections in Model settings.
- Review task information before confirming. After the trial, open Usage history to check the provider and costs.
- Read the translation, edit what needs attention and then select more chapters.
Manage reruns through editorial work
Do not repeatedly submit a chapter that is waiting. When a task fails, inspect the cause and retry the affected work after resolving it. If a form of address or a passage needs improvement, edit it directly and save. Check the Book Bible for approved naming decisions before continuing.
Check your cost conditions first
Open Pricing for currently published charges and capabilities, then compare them with Plans & billing in your account. When the conditions meet your no-per-character-translation-charge goal, follow the first-chapter guide under Read next to begin.
